Lucifer: The Light Bringer

Lucifer derives from lux(light) and ferre(to bear), which would make Lucifer literally translate to Light-Bearer.

Lucifer is a Roman deity.  (considered a minor one, as well) His Greek counterpart is Phosphorus, the morning star. Lucifer is a god of light and wisdom. He is also said to be a Sun God and Diana’s brother in Aradia: The Gospel of the Witches. However, Strega’s generally believe that Dianus is Diana’s brother and sun god, not Lucifer. However, he can be considered as one of the Lucifers. Strega’s see Lucifer as a brave rebel whom opposed the tyrannical Yahweh.

He is comparable to Prometheus, Apollo, Loki and Thoth. Equated with Helios and sometimes Eros. Lucifer is many things: He is a Trickster, a Liberator, a Rebel, a Mentor and could be seen as a Hero, a Messiah, and the Serpent. In Luciferianism and Gnosticism he is generally seen as the serpent, and believe that the serpent/Lucifer came or was sent to save mankind from being enslaved by an evil god.

In mythology, Lucifer is said to be the son of Aurora and the father of Ceyx. He is also greatly known as a fallen angel, however, the verse that point would point at are talking about a Babylon king as stated here: http://newprotestants.com/LUCIFER.htm and http://www.apologeticspress.org/articles/2215

The association of Lucifer and Satan may have  begun with Origen, whom used various scriptures to support the devil doctrine. These scriptures were: Isaiah 14, Ezekiel 18, and Job’s reference to the Leviathan. He was the first to association Isaiah 14’s “Lucifer”
with the morning star.

Ironically,  “Morning star” is also used for Christ and was originally a Christian name for those whom recently converted.
In the Gospel of the Witches, Lucifer is said to be the father of Aradia, as well.

He is said to be an Etruscan god of light, or an Etruscan sun god. The only Etruscan sun god I can find is Usil, whom is the equivalent of Helios.
